WVU graduate Ray Lane to speak at venture capital expo

West Virginia University graduate Ray Lane, general partner with the venture capital firm Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers and a former president of Oracle Corp., will be the keynote speaker at the sixth annual West Virginia Venture Capital Expo on April 19 in Fairmont.

Wade Savoy, associate counsel for intellectual property at Wal-Mart Stores Inc., also is scheduled to speak at the event.

The expo will focus on start-up and growth companies by providing experts who will share insights on the importance of business planning, managing growth, accessing professional services and investment capital.

The INNOVA Commercialization Group, an initiative of the West Virginia High Technology Consortium Foundation, is sponsor of the expo.
